Andreas Scheuerpflug (born July 13, 1967 in Alpirsbach , Germany ) is a former German beach volleyball player .

Career

The scrub plow , who comes from Denzlingen , formed teams with Bernhard Hoffmann (until 1996) and Pierre-André Fröhlich (1997/98) at the beginning of his career . With Hoffmann, he won the German Beach Volleyball Championship in 1994 . In 1999 and 2000 he repeated this success together with Oliver Oetke . In 2000, the duo also took part in the Olympic Games in Sydney , but where all games were lost. From 2002 to 2005 Christoph Dieckmann was his partner; In 2003 and 2004 the two won the German championship. In 2004 they also achieved ninth place at the European championships in Timmendorfer Strand , third place at the World Tour tournament in Klagenfurt and victory at the European ranking tournament in Valencia . However, fifth place at the Olympic Games in Athens is considered the duo's greatest success . After a 13th place at the 2005 World Cup in Berlin , Scheuerpflug and Dieckmann won the World Tour tournaments in Shanghai and Klagenfurt as well as the CEV tournament in Lucerne . This was followed by fourth place at the EM in Moscow . In the German championship, however, they had to be satisfied with second place. After this, Scheuerpflug ended his active career at the age of 38.

Private

Andreas Scheuerpflug lives with his wife, the former beach volleyball player Martina Stoof , two daughters and a son in Potsdam and is a math and sports teacher at the Schiller High School in Berlin. He was also in charge of the Julius Brink / Christoph Dieckmann duo (until their retirement in 2009) and currently the Julius Brink / Jonas Reckermann duo as managers.
