Career
Kadijk started her volleyball career in 1992 indoors. After a year in her hometown club Foranto Werkendam, she moved to the first division club Sliedrecht Sport . In 1995 she was appointed to the Dutch national youth team. Two years later she moved to Belgium, where she played for Cornix Schelle for one season . 2000/01 she was active at AMVJ Amstelveen .
In 1997 she made her first international appearance as a beach volleyball player with Debora Schoon-Kadijk at the Marseille Open. A little later, the sisters, who won all Dutch championship titles from 1997 to 2000, came ninth at the World Championships in Los Angeles . The following year they lost at the European Championships in Rhodes only in the final against the Czech duo Celbová / Nováková . In 1999 they finished ninth and fifth at the World Championships in Marseille and the European Championships in Palma . At the next continental tournament in Getxo they won the bronze medal. In the 2000 Olympic tournament , however, the Kadijk sisters did not get past 19th place. They then parted ways.
With her new partner Marrit Leenstra , Rebekka Kadijk came 17th at the World Championships in Klagenfurt . A year later, after a final defeat against the Italians Gattelli / Perrotta in Basel , she became vice European champion for the second time . At the national level, Kadijk continued her winning streak with Leenstra. In 2003, the duo achieved their first overall victory in an open tournament in Lianyungang and at the European Championships they just missed the medal ranks in fourth place, while there was again a 17th place in the World Cup . In 2004 in Athens Kadijk took part in the Olympic tournament for the second time and finished 19th.
In 2005, Kadijk enjoyed further successes with her third partner Merel Mooren . At the World Championships in Berlin she was seventh and two months later she reached the final of the European Championships in Moscow , which the Greek Arvaniti / Karadassiou won. In the following year Kadijk / Mooren were again in the final of the European Championship and were defeated by the Russian duo Schirjajewa / Urjadowa in front of their home crowd in The Hague . After finishing 37th at the 2007 World Cup , they finished ninth at the 2007 and 2008 continental tournaments. The third Olympic participation ended for Kadijk in Beijing in 2008 in 19th place. After that, she ended her sporting career for the time being. For two years, the business student concentrated on activities as a consultant.
In 2010 she made her comeback in beach volleyball with her partner Merel Mooren in The Hague. At the 2011 World Cup in Rome , Kadijk / Mooren reached the first knockout round in third place in the group, in which they had to admit defeat in the national duel against Sanne Keizer and Marleen van Iersel . After the 13th place at the The Hague Open 2011, the duo separated again. In 2013 Kadijk formed a new duo with Laura Bloem . Bloem / Kadijk were able to achieve some top 3 placements nationally. At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki Bloem / Kadijk reached the main round, where they were eliminated against the top seeded Polish women Kołosińska / Brzostek .
