Andrea Raffaelli (born December 19, 1969 in San Benedetto del Tronto ) is a former Italian beach volleyball player .

Career

Raffaelli played in the 1996 world series with Marko Castagnoli and Antonio Babini . In 1997 he took part in the World Championships in Los Angeles with Nicola Grigolo and finished in 33rd place. The next year he formed a new duo with Maurizio Pimponi . Raffaelli / Pimponi reached the top ten twice in 1999, finishing ninth at the World Championships in Marseille and seventh at the European Championship in Palma . At the EM 2000, however, they were eliminated after a 14:16 against the Latvians Grīnbergs / Krūmiņš in the second losing round against the Swiss Heuscher / Kobel . Then they came in 19th at the Olympic tournament in Sydney after two unsuccessful games against the Argentinians Martínez / Conde and the Austrians Berger / Stamm .

After the preliminary round at the 2001 World Cup in Klagenfurt with Fosco Cicola , Raffaelli had to admit defeat to the Swiss brothers Martin and Paul Laciga and the German duo Dieckmann / Slacanin in the third round of the subsequent EM . While Raffaelli / Pimponi finished 13th at the European Championships in Basel in 2002 , they missed the two big tournaments in 2003. They separated at the end of the year.

Raffaelli played with Fabio Galli from 2004 . The next year the duo competed at the European Championships in Moscow and lost after losing the first game in the third losing round against compatriots Lione / Varnier . In 2006 in The Hague it was enough to place 17. In 2007 Raffaelli completed a few tournaments with changing partners.
