Andris Krūmiņš (born July 27, 1976 in Talsi , Latvian SSR ) is a former Latvian beach volleyball player .
Career
Krūmiņš played his first open tournaments in 1997 and 1998 with Normunds Linkevicz . In 1999 he formed a duo with Jānis Grīnbergs . The Latvians prevailed against the Germans Ahmann / Hager at the European Championships 2000 after a narrow opening win , before they had to admit defeat to the Norwegians Kjemperud / Høidalen and the Russians Karassew / Saifulin . The next year they lost the opening game of the 2001 European Championship in Jesolo , but almost reached the semi-finals in the losing round before they were defeated by the Austrians Doppler / Gartmayer in the tie-break . In 2002 in Basel , the Austrians and new partners defeated the Latvians again, who lost both games in three sets.
From 2003 Krūmiņš went to with Ruslans Sorokins and reached two finals of Challenger tournaments in the following years. In 2006 and 2008 the duo only played in Brno .
