Francisco Javier Pineda Luna (born April 1, 1975 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife ) is a former Spanish beach volleyball player .

Career

Javier Pineda Luna played his first international tournaments with Angel Vera in 1996 . From 1998 to 2000 he formed a duo with Yoyi Luis , who finished 57th at the World Championships in Marseille and 17th at the European Championships in Mallorca . A year later the European Championship in Getxo ended again in 17th place for Luna / Luis. In the following years Luna played with Garcia Thompson , Ruiz Nuñez , Javier Bosma and Raúl Mesa , but could not achieve a top ten position here either.

In 2005 Javier Pineda Luna competed again with Garcia Thompson. At the World Cup in Berlin , Luna / Garcia did not get past 25th place after defeats against the Brazilians Franco / Tande and the Portuguese Maia / Brenha . In August they fought their way to the semi-finals at the European Championships in Moscow, despite the opening defeat against the Russians Dajanow / Jeremin ; only in the fifth losing round did they fail against the German duo Dieckmann / Scheuerpflug .

At the European Championships in 2006 in The Hague (with R. Herrera ), 2007 in Valencia (with Lario ) and 2008 in Hamburg (with Marco ), Luna took 17th place. Luna ended his career at the side of Christian García in 2009.
