Ruth Kolokotronis (born Flemig, born August 22, 1985 in Düren ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Ruth Flemig started her volleyball career in 1995 at TC Kreuzau. From there she moved to Alemannia Aachen . After a detour to Bayer Leverkusen , she played again from 1999 to 2008 for the second division team in Aachen, with whom she was promoted to the first division in 2008 . From 2008 to 2016 she played together with her sister Judith Pelzer for SG Marmagen-Nettersheim , with whom she was promoted to the Regionalliga West in 2010, to the Third League West in 2013 and to the 2nd Bundesliga North in 2014 .

Career Beach

In 2000 Flemig played her first beach tournament. In 2002 she won the bronze medal at the U18 World Cup. In 2003 she was fourth in the German A-Youth Championship with Ilka Semmler . A year later, the young duo became U20 European champions in Koper . In 2005 Flemig / Semmler came after two ninth places at the European championship in Moscow and at the German championship in Timmendorfer Strand in the final of the U21 world championship in Rio de Janeiro . With her new partner Friederike Romberg , Flemig improved by four places nationally in 2006. She also became student European and vice-world champion. From 2007 to 2008 she formed a duo with Stefanie Hüttermann , her team-mate at Alemannia Aachen. She was able to defend her title at the European Student Championship and came third in the German championship . In 2009 and 2010 she played with Leonie Müller .

Private

Kolokotronis lives in Cologne and studied English and Sport on teacher training . Since the school year 2014/15 she has been a teacher at the high school at Wirteltor Düren . Her sister Judith was volleyball player of the year in 1999 .
