Olga Matvejewa ( Russian Ольга Матвеева ; English transcription: Olga Matveeva ; born December 20, 1975 in Leningrad ) is a Spanish beach volleyball player of Soviet origin.

Career

Matwejewa played her first international tournaments in 2006 with Teresa Zunzunegui Hernando . While the duo came in 25th place at the Shanghai Open, it was only 41st place in two Grand Slams. In 2007, Matwejewa met Ester Alcon . After two 17th places in open tournaments, Matwejewa / Alcon took part in the World Championships in Gstaad . There they prevailed in the group in front of two teams with equal points and failed in the first main round against the Brazilians Renata / Talita . The European Championships in Valencia , they also finished at No. 17. A year later, they had to the European Championship tournament in Hamburg the German duo Banck / Günther and Brink-Abeler / Jurich beaten. They then reached the top ten for the first time in ninth place at the Marseille Open. In 2009 the two Spaniards qualified for the World Championships in Stavanger . There they failed to win a set in the three group games, so they were eliminated after the preliminary round.

In 2011 Matwejewa completed the Open tournament in Mysłowice with Liliana Fernández Steiner . The following year she formed a duo with Nazareth Florian . After the Masters in Baden , the duo played two Grand Slams and finally came 25th at the Open tournament in Bang Saen .
