Renata Trevisan Martins Ribeiro (born December 7, 1981 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian beach volleyball player .
Career
Ribeiro began her sporting career in 1993 with volleyball . In the hall she played for teams from Rio de Janeiro, Botafogo FR , Fluminense and Flamengo . In 2001 and 2002 she played her first tournaments on the FIVB World Tour as a beach volleyball player . In 2003 she formed a duo with Shaylyn Bede . At the World Championships in Rio Ribeiro / Shaylyn won their preliminary group without losing a set. They then prevailed in two national duels before losing to the eventual world champions Walsh / May from the USA in the quarter-finals and finishing in fifth place. In 2004 they reached the final of the Milan Open and several other top ten placements.
In 2005 Ribeiro formed a new duo with Talita Antunes da Rocha . In their first year together on the World Tour, Ribeiro / Talita reached the finals in Saint Petersburg and Montreal and won the tournaments in Athens and Bali . In 2006, with one exception, they always made it into the top ten. The following year they won the Open tournaments in Sentosa and Marseille . At the 2007 World Cup in Gstaad , they remained unbeaten in the three group matches and in the first main round. In the quarter-finals they lost to the German duo Pohl / Rau and finished ninth. In 2008 Ribeiro / Talita started with a second place in Adelaide and the tournament victory in Shanghai . They also qualified for the Beijing Olympics . There they got unbeaten in the semi-finals, which they lost to Walsh / May-Treanor. In the game for the bronze medal, the Brazilians had to admit defeat to the Chinese Xue Chen / Zhang Xi .
In 2009 Ribeiro played with Vanilda Leão . At the Grand Slam in Moscow , Ribeiro / Leão were in the final. They also achieved a third and several fifth places on the World Tour. In 2011 Ribeiro returned to the world series with Reading Lima , but did not get beyond 17th place. The following year she only competed at the Brasília Open with Elize Maia . From 2015 to 2017 Ribeiro only played in national tournaments, mostly with Thati Soares and Vanilda Leão.

Ribeiro is married to the martial arts athlete Mauricio Rua .
