Maria José Almeida Schuller (born February 13, 1965 in Viseu ) is a former Portuguese volleyball and beach volleyball player .
Career
Maria José Schuller first played indoor volleyball in a school team in Porto , with which she was youth champion in 1980/81. Between 1986 and 1995 she was five times Portuguese champion with her team Boavista Porto . In 1994 she made her debut in beach volleyball and played internationally with Cristina Pereira on the FIVB World Tour and at European CEV tournaments from 1995 to 2001 . Pereira / Schuller were unrivaled nationally and won the championship six times. They took part in three world championships and three European championships. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Pereira / Schuller were eliminated in the round of 16 against Brazilians Sandra Pires / Adriana Samuel .
