Adriana Samuel Ramos (born April 12, 1966 in Resende ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player .

Career

Adriana Samuel played her first international tournaments with Mônica Rodrigues in 1993 . At the Open tournament in Rio de Janeiro , the duo reached the final as well as at the 1994 Goodwill Games in Saint Petersburg . After numerous other top ten placements, the Brazilians took part in the first Olympic tournament in Atlanta in 1996 and only lost to their compatriots Sandra Pires and Jackie Silva in the final . A year later they lost the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Los Angeles against the Americans Kirby / Reno .

In 1998 Adriana Samuel formed a new duo with Sandra Pires and immediately won the Open tournaments in Toronto and Marseille . At the 1999 World Cup , which was also held in the French city, the Brazilians missed third place after losing to the US duo Masakayan / Youngs . In the 2000 Olympic tournament they were able to prevail against the Japanese Takahashi / Saiki and win bronze.
