Christine Mellitzer (born March 21, 1976 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian beach volleyball player .

Career

Mellitzer completed her first open tournaments in 1997 in Marseille and 1998 in Toronto . She then formed a duo with Katharina Münchmeyer . The Austrians did not get past last place at the European Championships in 1999 . A year later they failed with two clear defeats to the Jantschulowa sisters from Bulgaria and the Swedish duo Ekblom / Lundqvist . In 2001 Mellitzer and her new partner Sabine Swoboda reached the first main round at the World Championships in Klagenfurt, where they lost to the Chinese Chi Rong / Xiong Zi . The following European Championship in Jesolo ended early for Mellitzer / Swoboda. In 2002 in Basel they came in 17th place. In 2003 Mellitzer played with Irina Brandstetter , but missed both the European Championship and the World Cup. Her best result this year was 25th place at the home Grand Slam in Klagenfurt. In 2004 she played two more tournaments with Cornelia Rimser .
