Cornelia Rimser (born May 1, 1982 in Vienna ) is an Austrian volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Indoor volleyball

Rimser began her career at SVS Post Schwechat . From 2003 to 2005 she played at TI Volley Innsbruck and was named Austria's volleyball player of the year in 2004. In the 2005/06 season she was active in Switzerland at VC Kanti Schaffhausen . The attacker then returned to SVS Post Schwechat, with whom she won many championships and national cups and played regularly in the European Cup.

Rimser played her first international tournament on the FIVB World Tour at the Gstaad Open 2003 with Brigitte Stampfer . In 2004 she competed with Christine Mellitzer again in Gstaad and at the Grand Slam in Klagenfurt . She contested the Grand Slam at home in 2006 and 2007 with Jill Jasbar and in 2008 with Magdalena Jirak , who then also became her steady partner with whom she was a. completed three open tournaments. Rimser was also Austrian champion in 2008. In 2009 Rimser / Jirak took part in other FIVB tournaments without reaching any top placements. In 2010 and 2011 Rimser played with Kerstin Eva-Maria Errath (then Pichler). The 25th places in Klagenfurt were their best joint results on the World Tour. In addition, Rimser was national runner-up in both years. She competed for the first time with Sabine Swoboda at the The Hague Open . The duo achieved several podium places on the national tour in the following years and came fourth at the Baden Master 2014. Rimser, however, played the Klagenfurt tournament in 2014 with Valerie Teufl .

In 2015 Rimser won the national tournaments in Krems and Fürstenfeld with her new partner Katherina Almer . At the European Championships in Klagenfurt she played with Nadine Strauss , because her sister Teresa was on a break, and finished ninth. Then Rimser / Almer achieved further top places in MEVZA and CEV satellite tournaments. In 2017 Rimser formed a duo with Lena Plesiutschnig . Rimser / Plesiutschnig finished ninth at the Baden Masters. For the World Cup in Vienna they got one of the two starting places of the host nation, but were eliminated without a win after the group stage.
