Iver Andreas Horrem (born January 1, 1977 in Aukra ) is a Norwegian beach volleyball player .

Career

Horrem completed his first international tournaments in 1998 with Kjell Arne Gøranson . The following year, the Norwegians did not get past the (shared) last place at the World Cup in Marseille . The following European Championship in Palma they finished 17th. A year later they were defeated in Getxo by the Czechs Palinek / Lébl and the Russians Karassew / Saifulin .

When Jan Kvalheim resigned after the Olympic Games in 2000 , Horrem formed a new duo with his previous partner Bjørn Maaseide . In the first main round of the 2001 World Cup , the Norwegians had to admit defeat after three sets to the eventual overall winners Baracetti / Conde from Argentina. A month later, after a defeat against the Swiss brothers Martin and Paul Laciga, they entered the losing round of the European Championship , in which they lost against the German duo Oetke / Scheuerpflug . After three fifth places at the Klagenfurt Grand Slam and the open tournaments in Cádiz and Fortaleza , they lost in the fourth game of the losers round at the 2002 European Championships in Basel against their compatriots Høidalen / Kjemperud .

The 2003 World Cup ended for the Norwegian duo in the first main round against the Germans Christoph Dieckmann and Andreas Scheuerpflug . After Horrem / Maaseide reached the quarter-finals against the Swiss Heuscher / Kobel at the 2004 European Championships in Timmendorfer Strand and finished fifth, they took part in the Olympic tournament in Athens and were eliminated as the bottom of the group after the preliminary round.

Since Maaseide then announced his resignation, Horrem played with Bard-Inge Pettersen from 2005 . The new duo lost to the Cubans Álvarez / Bernal and the US team Rogers / Dalhausser at the World Cup in Berlin . Horrem / Pettersen then achieved two fifth places in Montreal (2005) and Roseto degli Abruzzi (2006). The European Championships in The Hague ended for them in 13th place after defeats against the Austrians Berger / Gartmayer and the Spaniards Herrera / Mesa .

After breaking up with Pettersen, Horrem persuaded his previous partner Maaseide to make a comeback. The reunited duo finished 17th at the 2007 World Cup in Gstaad after losing to the Brazilians Franco / Cunha . After Horrem / Maaseide were eliminated two years later at the World Cup in Stavanger in front of their own audience without winning a set after the preliminary round, their time together ended.

From 2009 to 2011 Horrem played with Øivind Hordvik . The debut at the Kristiansand Open ended on rank 17. In August 2011 they took part in the European Championships in Kristiansand , but failed in the main round against the Dutch Stiekema / Varenhorst .

In 2012 Horrem got together with Geir Eithun . At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki, Horrem / Eithun were eliminated without a win after the preliminary round.
