Michal Palinek (born August 10, 1967 in Přerov ) is a former Czech beach volleyball player . He became European champion and took part in the 1996 Olympic Games.

Career

Palinek completed his first international tournaments in 1994 with Marek Pakosta . Two years later, the Czechs won the European Championship in 1996 with a victory in the final against Jörg Ahmann and Axel Hager . In the same year they took part in the Olympic tournament in Atlanta . There they were defeated by the Brazilians Franco / Roberto Lopes and the Canadians Child / Heese .

At the 1997 World Cup , Palinek reached 17th place with his new partner Přemysl Kubala . Two years later, he and Martin Lébl did not get above rank 41 at the World Cup in Marseille . The duo also took part in the 2000 Olympic tournament . After a narrow defeat against the Swiss brothers Martin and Paul Laciga, they were eliminated in the losing round against the Spaniards Bosma / Díez . The 2001 World Cup ended for Palinek and Stanislav Popoch after the preliminary round. In the following two years he played a few tournaments with Štěpán Smrčka .
