Francisco Álvarez Cutiño (born April 12, 1969 in Santiago de Cuba ) is a former Cuban beach volleyball player .

Career

Francisco Álvarez Cutiño played from 1995 to 2002 with his half-brother Gil Ferrer Cutiño at national tournaments and was four times Cuban champion. He competed internationally with Juan Miguel Rosell Milanés from 1995 to 2004 . The two Cubans achieved a victory on the FIVB World Tour at the Puerto Rico Open in 1995 . In 1996 they finished seventh at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . After a 2003 victory at the Pan American Games and two 17th places at the 2003 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , Álvarez Cutiño ended his collaboration with Rosell Milanés. With Oney Ramírez Bernal , Álvarez Cutiño finished fifth at the 2005 World Cup in Berlin . At the side of Leonel Munder , Álvarez Cutiño won the bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games and only finished 33rd at the World Cup in Gstaad .
