Career

Indoor volleyball

From there she went to the second division VBC Spiez in 1991 , with whom she made promotion to the first division in 1993. The national player of the Swiss U18 juniors, however, switched to the first division competitor VBC Düdingen . The next year she was active at the second division VBC Biel / Bienne before joining the team at the University of Bern in 1996/1997 . From 1997 to 1999 Trüssel played again in Biel / Bienne. After starting her beach career, she went back to National League A for VBC Franches-Montagnes in 2001/02 . In 2004/05 she played her last season indoors at VBC Seftigen .

Trüssel played her first international tournaments with Nadia Erni in 1999 . While she reached the top ten at the FIVB satellite tournament in Portici , she did not get past the shared last place at the European Championships in Palma . A year later she and her new partner Denise Kölliker had to admit defeat to two Greek duos in Getxo . Her best finish of the season was a seventh place at the Challenger tournament in Xylokastro .

2001 was her best year so far. She completed her first FIVB Open tournaments and qualified with Kölliker for the World Championship in Klagenfurt , where she was eliminated from the competition from the USA and Bulgaria with 1: 4 sets in the preliminary round. The EM in Jesolo went much better . Only their Swiss compatriots Schnyder-Benoit / Kuhn prevented their entry into the semi-finals. Trüssel / Kölliker took fifth place. They also won the bronze medal at the national championship and Trüssel was voted Swiss player of the year.

In 2002 she was unable to build on this success because she had to take a break due to an injury to her knee . From 2003 she then competed again with Erni. At the European Championship in Alanya , like two years ago, she met Schnyder-Benoit / Kuhn and the Dutch duo Kadijk / Leenstra . The only set win in the preliminary round succeeded Trüssel / Erni against the group winners Håkedal / Tørlen . In Los Angeles , the defender took part in a Grand Slam for the first time. Nationally, she achieved third place as the best result on the beach tour in Locarno .

In the same place she won the tournament the following year. They also came second in Geneva and third in Appenzell . Internationally there was in 2004, in addition to various participation in open tournaments, a fifth place at the satellite tournament in Lausanne . Trüssel / Erni, however, ended the preliminary round of the EM in Timmendorfer Strand without winning a set. At the 2005 World Cup in Berlin, the duo initially lost to the Cubans Ribalta / Crespo . At the start of the loser's round, they made it into the tie-break against former Australian Olympic champion and World Cup third party Natalie Cook and her partner Summer Lochowicz . Trüssel achieved the best results that year as fourth in the satellite tournament in Vaduz and third in the national competition in Basel .

In 2006 she formed a new duo with Annalea Hartmann . The satellite tournament in Vaduz, in which she was only defeated in the final by the Germans Holtwick / Semmler , Trüssel herself describes as her greatest success. She reached ninth place at the European Masters in Lucerne . With Hartmann she played the Grand Slam in Gstaad and Paris and the Marseille Open, while the Grand Slam in Stavanger , exceptionally, with Isabelle Forrer took. In their games at the European Championship in The Hague , Trüssel / Hartmann could not prevail against the Bulgarian sisters Zwetelina and Petja Jantschulowa and the Czechs Felbabová / Novotná . At home, Trüssel was successful with tournament victories in Locarno and Lucerne as well as podium places in Appenzell, Basel and Zurich and crowned the national success with the silver medal of the Swiss championship.

With her new partner Gracie Santana-Bäni , she won two tournaments and four other medals on the 2007 Beach Tour. There was also a victory at a four-country tournament of the CEV in Brienzwiler . Internationally, the duo took part in three European Masters and two FIVB Open. In 2008 Trüssel played with Tanya Guerra Arias-Schmocker , who also comes from Bern. This time she finished second in Brienzwiler and made it into the top ten of the Satellite in Vaduz. Furthermore, she reached thirteenth and seventeenth places at the Dubai and Mysłowice Open and the Grand Slam in Gstaad . At the Swiss championship she won bronze for the second time.

For her last season as an active player, Trüssel changed partners again in 2009. With Annik Skrivan , she did not get past 33rd place at the FIVB tournaments, in Vaduz it was still enough to rank 17th in the satellite tournament. Nationally, however, she achieved a successful conclusion with another bronze medal at the Swiss championship. After the championship, the trained teacher, who teaches at a secondary school in Kirchberg , ended her career in order to have more time for other tasks. With her experience, she took over the organization of the tournament in Brienzwiler. In 2011 she played a few more national tournaments with the young partner Joana Heidrich .
