Stefan Landberg
Stefan Olof Ragnar Landberg (born May 5, 1970 ) is a Swedish former football player . The midfielder , who competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics soccer competition , played for the Swedish national team between 1992 and 1997 .
Career
Landberg comes from the youth of Kalmar FF . For the second division relegated he made his adult debut in 1988 and quickly established himself as a regular on the offensive. After the direct re-promotion, he also showed good performance in the second highest division. Before the beginning of the first division season in 1990 , he finally moved to Östers IF in the Allsvenskan . At the side of Hans Eklund , Jan Jansson , Peter Wibrån and Nicklas Persson , he moved into the championship play-offs as fourth in the table, in the semi-finals against IFK Norrköping , in which the club failed, he was used.
In the following season Östers IF could not build on the success and had to compete in the Kvalsvenskan as penultimate of the spring series . However, the team dominated the eight-team relegation round with the four best second division clubs and remained undefeated in the 14 games. Landberg contributed four goals to the series win and thus relegation. His good performances had already led him to the junior national teams of Svenska Fotbollförbundet , and at the 1992 Olympic Games he was also part of the Olympic team supervised by Nils Andersson . At the side of Håkan Mild , Jesper Jansson , Tomas Brolin , Joachim Björklund and Jonny Rödlund , he reached the quarter-finals of the tournament against Australia with the national team, but was eliminated from the competition despite a goal by Patrik Andersson with goals conceded by John Markovski and Shaun Murphy . In the fall of that year he also made his debut in the senior national e than this in the context of qualifying for the 1994 World Cup in Israel met. In the following years, Landberg, who placed himself with his club in the front half of the table, stayed in the extended circle of the national team. At the same time, he continued to play for the national team, but after missing qualification for the 1998 World Cup final round , he was no longer appointed after 17 international matches. At club level, however, he was still a regular player, but the club was no longer able to successfully shape the decade and slipped in the table. In 2000, Landberg had to end his career early due to injury. However, he remained loyal to the club and later moved up to the coaching staff.
