Jonny Rödlund (born December 22, 1971 ) is a former Swedish football player on the position of midfielder . Most recently he was a coach at the Swedish third division team Syrianska IF Kerburan .
Career
society
After stints at Skiljebo SK and Västerås SK , Rödlund left his home country while still young and joined the youth team of RSC Anderlecht in 1987 and the youth team of Manchester United a year later .
In 1989 he returned to Sweden and was under contract with IFK Norrköping until 1993 . With them he won the Swedish Championship in 1989 and the Swedish Cup in 1991.
Rödlund's subsequent positions were: BK Häcken , Västerås SK , Degerfors IF , Sporting Braga and again Västerås SK. For Västerås SK he played a total of 73 times and scored twelve goals.
In 1999 Rödlund moved to Germany, to the second division club FC Energie Cottbus . In the 17 second round matches of the 1999/2000 season , he was used 14 times and scored three goals. At the end of the season he rose to the 1st Bundesliga with Cottbus . In the first Cottbus Bundesliga season, Rödlund was only substituted on seven times by coach Eduard Geyer . He held the class with the team and then moved to Beijing Guoan in China .
In 2002 Rödlund returned to Sweden and played for three years for the Swedish second division club Enköpings SK .
In 2007 he ended his active career at Skiljebo SK in his home country .
National team
Rödlund was a member of the Swedish Olympic selection in 1992 . With three goals in the tournament, he was Sweden's top goalscorer.
Rödlund made his debut in the Swedish national team on February 14, 1990 , when they lost 2-1 to the United Arab Emirates' national team . Two years later he came in the 0-1 defeat against the Australian national team for a second international match.
Coaching stations
In 2008 Rödlund took over the coaching position at the Swedish fourth division team Syrianska IF Kerburan , which he led into the third division as champions of division 2 Norra Svealand . Nevertheless, he announced his departure at the end of the season.
