Imara Esteves Ribalta (born April 15, 1978 in Cabaiguán ) is a former Cuban beach volleyball player .

Career

Esteves Ribalta played her first international tournaments with Milagros Crespo in 2003 and achieved several top ten placements in the first year. In the preliminary round of the World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, however, the Cubans had to admit defeat to two teams with equal points. In 2004 they finished seventh at the Gstaad Open. A year later they lost to the Dutch Mooren / Kadijk in the third main round of the World Cup in Berlin and were eliminated by the Greek duo Koutroumanidou / Tsiartsiani . Her best results in 2006 were two fifth places in Saint Petersburg and Acapulco .

At the start of the 2007 World Cup in Gstaad , they defeated their compatriots Fernández Grasset / Larrea ; in the first main round they lost to the Chinese Wang Lu / Zuo Man . The next year they took part in the Beijing Olympics. There they came third in the group of sixteen and failed again due to a duo from China, this time Xue Chen / Zhang Xi . After the tournament, they parted ways.

Esteves Ribalta played a few tournaments with Fernández Grasset in 2009. In the preliminary round of the 2009 World Cup in Stavanger , they were the worst of three teams with equal points; nevertheless they got into the first knockout round, in which they were defeated by the Brazilians Ana Paula / Shelda .
