Shelda Kelly Bruno Bede (born January 1, 1973 in Fortaleza , Brazil ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player , two-time world champion and two-time silver medalist at the Olympic Games.

Career

First Shelda Bede played indoor volleyball , at the age of 18 she moved to the sand. After three unsuccessful qualifications for FIVB tournaments with Isabel Salgado , Shelda played her first tournament with Adriana Behar in late 1995 . Since then, the two Brazilians have won 31 FIVB tournaments, including two World Championships in 1999 and 2001. In 1999, the two South Americans also won the Pan American Games . At the Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004 Shelda / Adriana reached the final, but lost both times. Six times they became Tour Champion of the FIVB together, five of them uninterruptedly in the years 1997 to 2001. A runner-up world title in 2003 and a bronze medal at the 1997 World Cup complete the track record of Adriana Behar and Shelda Bede, the three FIVB after the end of their partner’s career Won tournaments with Ana Paula , became FIVB Tour Champion for the seventh time and reached the semi-finals with her new partner at the 2009 World Cup in Stavanger. After that, Shelda ended her long international career. In 2010 Shelda was inducted into the "Volleyball Hall of Fame".
