Maria Isabel Barroso Salgado (born August 2, 1960 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian beach volleyball player .

Career

Isabel Salgado is one of the players who took part in the first FIVB Women's World Tour tournament in Almería in August 1992 . With the future world and Olympic champion Jackie Silva she finished fourth in the only joint tournament. In the next few years Isabel achieved her greatest successes with her new partner Roseli Timm. The two Brazilians won a gold medal at the event in Miami from 1993 to 1994 , as well as three silver and two bronze medals. Then Salgado played with various partners for another three years on the tour before she ended her career in 1997.

family

Isabel Salgado is the mother of six children, three of whom are successful beach volleyball players. Maria-Clara and Carolina started the World Tour for the first time in 2005 and won their first gold medal in Mysłowice in 2008 . Son Pedro has already won more than ten tournaments and was elected FIVB Tour Champion and Team of the Year in 2008 with his partner.
