Hermes Arzneimittel is a medium-sized, family-run pharmaceutical company with locations in Germany and Austria. It offers products for self-medication and is also specialized as a manufacturer in medicinal effervescent and other rapidly dissolving solid forms.

history

The company was founded in Munich in 1907 and is still owned by the Burges family today. Initially a supplier of herbal teas , the range was expanded to include herbal medicinal products until the 1950s. In the 1960s, Hermes Arzneimittel licensed a special manufacturing process for effervescent tablets. Today more than 600 employees work at the headquarters in Großhesselohe and the locations in Wolfratshausen , Wolfsberg and Vienna . Bad Heilbrunn teas are also part of Hermes, who are based in Bad Heilbrunn.

Divisions

The company is divided into two business areas:

  • The OTC division develops and markets branded pharmaceuticals, dietetic foods , nutritional supplements and dermopharmaceutical preparations, which are sold exclusively through pharmacies.
  • The Pharma division develops and produces effervescent tablets, effervescent granules and other solid, soluble dosage forms such as chewable tablets, direct granules or medical chewing gum, primarily on behalf of other pharmaceutical companies and for the OTC division. About 450 different products are offered in over 750 different pack designs.
