The 1997/98 season was the fifth season of the Israeli Ice Hockey League , the highest Israeli ice hockey league . Champion was the first time in club history at all of HC Maccabi Amos Lod .

Top scorer was Lev Sudat with 42 points, including 20 goals, from the champions HC Maccabi Amos Lod. Second place went to his teammate Dima Putilov with equal points (18 goals and 24 assists ).

In the main round, each of the seven teams played a total of twelve games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
