The 2001/02 season was the ninth season of the Israeli Ice Hockey League , the highest Israeli ice hockey league . HC Ma'alot became champions for the second time in the club's history .

mode

In the main round, each of the five teams played a total of 16 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs, in which the champions should be played out. Due to the tense security situation, however, the playoffs were not held and the first-placed winner in the main round was named champion. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
