The 2016/17 season was the 22nd season of the Israeli Ice Hockey League , the highest Israeli ice hockey league . The Rishon Devils became Israeli champions for the fourth time in the club's history .

Participants in the 2016/17 season

In the 2016/17 season, as in the previous year, a main round (as a single round) was held with ten teams. The games took place in the country's two ice rinks, the Canada Center in Metulla and the Ice Peaks in Cholon .

In the main round, the ten participants each played against each other once. Then the eight best teams played in the play-offs for the Israeli championship title. Each knockout round of the play-offs was decided in a single game.

For the first time, a regulated promotion and relegation between the highest and second highest division was introduced.
