FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Gstaad Grand Slam
The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Gstaad Grand Slam is a beach volleyball tournament that takes place every summer as part of the FIVB World Tour in Gstaad . It is one of the most highly endowed tournaments. Olympic, world and European champions and the best players in the world rankings play for a week for prize money of 480,000 US dollars.
history
The tournament has been taking place since 2000. Beginning with an open, the tournament has had Grand Slam status since 2006. In 2007 the world championships were held in Gstaad .
organization
The initiator of the tournament and tournament director for fifteen years is Ruedi Kunz. There is an office, a 35-member organizing committee and around 550 volunteers.
sustainability
As the first sporting event in Switzerland, the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Gstaad Grand Slam has created a sustainability report in accordance with the international GRI / EOSS guidelines. This was done as part of a pilot project that was led by the Federal Offices for Spatial Development, Sport and the Environment. In future, the report will also serve as a guide for sustainability reporting for Swiss sporting events.

In 2000 the tournament began as a women's competition. The men have also been there since 2001.
