Sean Rosenthal (* 19th June 1980 in Redondo Beach ( California )) is an American beach volleyball player .

Career

Sean Rosenthal has played on the US AVP Tour since 1997 and internationally on the FIVB World Tour since 2003 . From 2003 to 2005 he played with Larry Witt and won his first AVP tournaments during this time. From 2006 to 2013 Rosenthal played with Jacob Gibb , with whom he won the FIVB Open tournaments in Acapulco in 2006 and in Prague in 2008. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , Gibb / Rosenthal landed in fifth place after failing in the quarter-finals against the later bronze medalists Ricardo / Emanuel . At the 2007 World Championships in Gstaad , they achieved fifth place, 2009 in Stavanger a ninth place and 2011 in Rome a 17th place. The last year together, 2012, was the most successful of Gibb / Rosenthal: After two Grand Slam victories on the FIVB World Tour in Rome and Gstaad, they finished fifth at the Olympic Games in London and finally also became FIVB Tour Champion .

Sean Rosenthal played with Phil Dalhausser from 2013 and won the Fuzhou Open and the Grand Slams in Rome and Long Beach . At the 2013 World Cup in Stare Jabłonki , Dalhausser / Rosenthal finished ninth. In 2014 the Americans won the Grand Slams in Stavanger, Gstaad and Long Beach. After Phil Dalhausser was injured in 2015, Rosenthal formed new teams on the FIVB Tour, first with Stafford Slick and later with Theodore Brunner and Jeremy Casebeer . In 2017 Trevor Crabb was Rosenthal's partner, with whom he reached fifth place at the FIVB 3-star tournament in Xiamen . In 2018 Rosenthal played together with the former professional basketball player Chase Budinger .
