Theodore Allan "Theo" Brunner (born March 17, 1985 in Palo Alto , California ) is an American volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Brunner grew up in Ridgefield, Connecticut , where he started volleyball at Ridgefield High School. From 2004 to 2009 he played gauchos for UC Santa Barbara . The middle blocker then moved to Europe and played in Greece at PAOK Saloniki in 2009/10 . From 2010 to 2012 Brunner was active with the Italian clubs Marmi Lanza Verona and CMC Ravenna . In June 2012 he was signed by the German Bundesliga team Generali Haching . After Brunner was diagnosed with a heart defect in September 2012, Haching terminated his contract.

With the national team , Brunner won the PanAm Cup in Puerto Rico in 2010 .

Career Beach

From 2006 to 2010 Brunner took part in the US AVP Tour with various partners . Since 2013 he has also been internationally active on the FIVB World Tour and played with David McKienzie , Nick Lucena , Olympic champion Todd Rogers , Casey Jennings and John Mayer . Sean Rosenthal was Brunner's partner from August 2015 to March 2016 . After that, Brunner played with Billy Allen , in 2017 with Casey Patterson and in 2018 with John Hyden .
