Casey Patterson (born April 20, 1980 in Newbury Park ) is an American volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career indoor volleyball

Patterson began playing volleyball at Newbury Park High School. He later studied at Brigham Young University and played on the university team. After completing his studies, he first went to Puerto Rico . In the 2005/06 season he won the Swedish championship with Falkenberg . He then returned to Puerto Rico and reached the final of the national championship in San Sebastian . In 2009 he became national champion with Corozal and received an award as Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Career beach volleyball

Patterson played his first beach tournaments with Dennis Roberts on the AVP tour in 2004 . After appearing with three different partners in 2006, he formed a duo with Kyle Denitz in 2007 and came in 25th place three times in the US tournament series. In 2008 he had five different teammates at his side and achieved ninth place as the best result. On the AVP Tour 2009 Patterson established himself with Ty Loomis in the top ten and won the tournament in Brooklyn . In addition, Patterson / Loomis set the record for the longest set in an AVP game with a 40:38 at Hermosa Beach . 2010 Patterson reached third place twice with Kevin Wong and finished the AVP tour in fifth place overall. The following year he appeared with Bradley Keenan for the first time on the FIVB World Tour . The duo finished ninth at the Brasília Open and the Grand Slam in Beijing . In 2012 Patterson played two AVP tournaments with Ryan Doherty . From 2013 to 2016 he formed a duo with Jacob Gibb . After finishing ninth at the start in Fuzhou , Gibb / Patterson won the Grand Slam in Shanghai . Then they were in the finals in Corrientes and at the Continental Cup in Campinas and were fifth in The Hague . At the World Cup in Stare Jabłonki , Gibb / Patterson reached the main round as third in the group, where they were eliminated from their compatriots Dalhausser / Rosenthal . Also in the following years Gibb / Patterson had numerous top ten placements on the World Tour.

In 2017 Patterson played with Theodore Brunner , in 2018 with Stafford Slick and in 2019 with Chase Budinger .
