Reinder Aart Nummerdor (born September 10, 1976 in IJsselmuiden , Overijssel , Netherlands ) is a former Dutch volleyball and beach volleyball player . He was European champion in the hall and in the sand and took part in the Olympic Games five times.

Career indoor volleyball

Reinder Nummerdor began in 1990 as a youth player at EVV Elburg . He then played for VC Zwolle and Piet Zoomers Apeldoorn . From 1998 he played in the Italian league in Ravenna , Montichiari , Milan , Ferrara and again in Montichiari.

Numberdor made his debut in the Dutch national team on May 3, 1995 against Belgium . In 1997 he became European champion. He took part twice in the Olympic Games in indoor volleyball - 2000 in Sydney and 2004 in Athens. In total, he had 349 appearances in the national team.

Career beach volleyball

Reinder Nummerdor has played beach volleyball with Richard Schuil on the FIVB World Tour and the CEV European Tour since 2006 . The numberdor / Schuil duo had their first major success in 2007 when they won the FIVB tournament in Manama (Bahrain).

The following season, the Dutch won the World Tour tournaments in Zagreb and Dubai and finished fifth at the 2008 Beijing Olympics . In the same year Reinder Nummerdor and Richard Schuil became European champions . They were able to repeat this success in 2009.

There were also three successes on the World Tour in Åland , The Hague and Sanya , as well as the award for Reinder Nummerdor as the best defensive specialist in the series. In 2010, Nummerdor / Schuil won the European Beach Volleyball Championship for the third time in a row . The two Western Europeans won their next FIVB title at the last event of the following year in Agadir . Then Numberdor was named Best Defensive Player for the second time in his career . At the Olympic Games in London 2012 , Nummerdor / Schuil took fourth place.

Numberdor has been playing with Christiaan Varenhorst since mid-2014 . At the FIVB World Tour , Nummerdor / Varenhorst won the São Paulo Grand Slam and the Mangaung Open. In 2015, the two Dutch were runner-up in their home country . In 2016, Nummerdor / Varenhorst won the Grand Slam in Moscow and took fifth place at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . After that, Reinder Nummerdor ended his international career.

Private

Numberdor is married to the Dutch volleyball player Manon Flier . The two have had a daughter since 2016.
