Jean-Philippe Jodard (born July 8, 1966 in Auxerre ) is a former French beach volleyball player . He became the first European champion and took part in two Olympic Games.
Career
Jodard began his international career in 1990 with Christian Penigaud . The duo became first European champions in 1993 in Almería by winning the final against the Norwegians Jan Kvalheim and Bjørn Maaseide . In 1996 in Atlanta , the French were also at the Olympic premiere and lost in the second round to the Brazilians Zé Marco and Emanuel .
After an interlude with Ivan Douenel, Jordard joined the 1997 World Cup again with Penigaud and finished 17th. Two years later they reached ninth place at the World Cup in Marseille and were ninth at the European Championships in Sochi . In their second Olympic participation in Sydney in 2000 , they missed the last sixteen with two defeats. It was Jodard's last international appearance.
