Due to differences with the publisher Hoffmann, Thallwitz decided to publish his own newspaper. On July 19, 1838, the first edition of the Döbelner Anzeiger appeared under the title Anzeiger für Döbeln, Lommatzsch and the adjacent landscape . From July 3, 1847, the newspaper appeared twice a week and expanded its distribution to include the city of Rosswein and the surrounding area with the title Anzeiger and Wochenblatt für Döbeln, Lommatzsch, Rosswein and the surrounding countryside . In 1848 the display had a circulation of 1,500 copies. On January 1, 1863, the newspaper was elevated to the status of an official gazette and was called Anzeiger und Wochenblatt für Döbeln, Lommatzsch, Rosswein and the surrounding area. Official journal of the royal court office and city council of Döbeln . In 1866, in the midst of the turmoil of the German war , Thallwitz acquired a quick press. This made it possible from January 1, 1869, to have the newspaper appear three times a week.

After Wilhelm Thallwitz's death in 1872, his son Emil Thallwitz took over the business on a lease basis for a short time, but in 1876 he founded his own printing company. Adolph Thallwitz († 1911) took over the business on March 1, 1881 on a lease basis and bought it after his mother's death in 1897. In 1888, he acquired the property at Breite Straße 5, connected it spatially with the existing print shop and built a new two-story building in 1890/91 Building. In 1901 Adolph Thallwitz handed the business over to his sons Otto and Richard.

From July 1, 1876, the newspaper appeared daily and from 1878 it was published in the evening, which made the newspaper much more up-to-date for the circumstances at the time. In 1882 the newspaper had a circulation of 3700 copies and in 1897 it was named Döbelner Anzeiger und Tageblatt . The acceleration of the beginning of the 20th century found its expression in newspapers and so the newspaper was enlarged in scope and content from 1900 to the First World War . In 1922 the managing directors founded a GmbH. After Richard Thallwitz's death in 1935, his son Adolph joined the company. At the end of the Second World War in 1945, the last edition of the Döbelner Anzeiger appeared .
