Dükkan culture shop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dükkan-Kulturladen eV is an association with intercultural objectives, which was founded in 1986 as a lending library for "literature, film, dance and music from Turkey" in Munich .

In addition to building up his multilingual lending library on Turkish culture, which included everything from fiction to non-fiction and specialist books and did not exclude authors from other ethnic minorities, Dükkan began a unique project in Germany at this point, and later several hundred cultural events in the field of literature , music and theater to organize.

Objectives

The original approach leading to the establishment of the library and association was the desire to introduce and convey the still little-known cultural side of Turkey in Germany. Later, the areas of responsibility expanded as follows:

  • Development, maintenance and promotion of Turkish culture in Germany
  • Promotion of artists of Turkish origin or descent in Germany
  • Development of multiculturalism

On certain days of the week, Turkish is spoken by the cast in the shop to deepen language learning on the one hand and to maintain language on the other.

meaning

In the past, the Kulturladen was mentioned in directories on the multicultural society as an institution and contact point, and in some cases it was given national attention.
