Dün is a French Zeuhl band from Nantes , France. The aim of the group was to combine all known styles of progressive rock . Dün was particularly influenced by the French band Magma and the American musician Frank Zappa . The group moved on a technically and theoretically high level, played a particularly important role, as very often in the Zeuhl, the bass and the drums, but also the frequent use of flutes distinguishes Dün .

Düns roots go back to 1976. At that time, however, the group was still called Vegetaline Boufiol . In 1978 the group changed its name to Kan Daar and from then on played the cover of the band Mahavishnu Orchestra , reinforced by the saxophonist Phillippe Portejoie . The group soon decided to rename themselves Dune , the final name of the band was derived from this. 1980 Portejoie left Dün again. Until then, the band had given various concerts, including one as an opener for the group Magma . In 1981, Dün set out to record their first LP, which was titled Eros . The concept of this album was based on Frank Herbert's work Dune . In 1982 the line-up changed again and the band gave a few more concerts before breaking up in 1983.
