Nozzle spiral

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nozzle spiral was the first ride of Anton Schwarzkopf Jr. It was a covered roller coaster that could go in 1957 after two years of construction time. It had six vehicles that could accommodate four people, two in a row. The cars were self-propelled and reached speeds of up to 40 km / h. The track length was approx. 320 m.

The first owner of the facility was the showman Gottlieb Löffelhardt, who later founded Phantasialand together with Richard Schmidt . The long-standing friendship between Anton Schwarzkopf and Gottlieb Löffelhardt also created the first steel roller coaster with articulated train (5-part) in Phantasialand and many more Schwarzkopf rides such as the "1001 Nights" gondola, Geister Rikscha , Phantasialand-Jet and silver mine . At the beginning, Gottlieb Löffelhardt was supported on the trip by Anton Schwarzkopf and his brother Franz Schwarzkopf, in order to guarantee the construction, dismantling and operation of this complex system. Öffelhardt operated the spiral nozzle until 1960. From 1961 to 1962 the showman Klein from Berlin was the owner of the facility. From 1964 the ride was then in the Vienna Prater . In 1968 the spiral nozzle was sold to Poland, then to Hungary. The current whereabouts of the nozzle spiral is uncertain. It can be assumed that the system was scrapped.
