The D'Entrecasteaux Channel ( English D'Entrecasteaux Channel ) is a sea route between Bruny Island and the Tasmanian mainland. He was first sighted by Abel Tasman in 1642 . In 1792 Joseph Bruny d'Entrecasteaux researched and mapped the sea route .
