Rudolf Woller

Rudolf Woller (born June 19, 1922 in Singen (Hohentwiel) ; † July 21, 1996 in 108 Mile Ranch, Canada ) was a German - Canadian journalist and writer .

Life

Woller was born the son of a businessman. He attended a reform high school and served as a fighter pilot and lieutenant in World War II. Then he was a volunteer at the Schwäbische Zeitung and editor at the Schwarzwälder Bote . From 1949 to 1950 he worked for the and eventually freelance reporter for Südwestfunk . He was then deputy head of foreign policy at Rheinischer Merkur . From 1953 to 1956 he was editor-in-chief of the European newspaper. From 1961 to 1962 he was chairman of the Young European Federalists in Germany . From 1962 to 1970 he headed the ZDF capital city studio in Bonn. From 1969 to 1978 he was President of the Association of Reservists of the German Armed Forces and meanwhile Colonel of the Reserve. From 1971 to 1976 he was editor-in-chief of ZDF .

From 1977 Woller lived on his farm in Canada. In 1982 he received the Great Federal Cross of Merit .
