Heinz-Detlef Drape (born March 23, 1920 in Hanover ; † February 8, 1987 there ) was a German doctor and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After Drape had graduated from high school in 1939 , he completed his war labor service and then studied medicine in Göttingen and Freiburg . From January 1941 he was a war participant in the Second World War in the Navy . From 1944 to 1945 he was a junior physician and later a ward physician in the naval hospital in Swinoujscie . After the end of the war in 1945, he took over the family's printing works, which had been destroyed in the war, and rebuilt it. Since 1960 he took part in exercises in the German Navy . Here he became frigate captain of the reserve and later federal chairman of the Association of Reservists of the German Armed Forces .

Career

Drape became a member of the CDU in 1955 and worked for the party on the Hanover district executive for several years. Among other things, he was deputy district chairman. He was active on the board of the CDU in Lower Saxony until 1975/76. He was chairman of the district association in Hanover; also in the middle class association of the CDU in Lower Saxony. Between 1950 and 1964 he was deputy chairman of the Association of Graphic Companies in Lower Saxony. He was also an honorary judge at the labor court and an honorary social judge. Drape was chairman of the representative assembly of the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse (AOK) in Hanover. He became a member of the Federal Insurance Agency for Salaried Employees (BfA) in Berlin and a board member of the employers' association in Lower Saxony. He was also a member of the tax committee of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce . Drape was also a member of the supervisory board of Deutsche Messe AG and the administrative board of the DRK hospital Clementinenhaus in Hanover.

Public offices

Drape was from 1962 to 1968 councilor , while from 1964 to 1968 Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Council of the City of Hannover . He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the sixth to ninth electoral terms from June 6, 1967 to June 20, 1982 and in the tenth electoral term from January 18, 1984 to June 20, 1986. Drape was deputy from June 6, 1978 to June 20, 1982 Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

Awards

He is the holder of the Great Cross of Merit of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit .
