The Federal Insurance Agency for Salaried Employees ( BfA ), headquartered in Berlin, was a German corporation under public law .

As the successor to the Reichsversicherungsanstalt for salaried employees , it was the largest provider of statutory pension insurance in Germany and one of the largest social service providers in Europe . From October 1, 2005, it was transferred by law to the German Pension Insurance as a federal sponsor under the new name of the German Federal Pension Insurance .
