fusion

With the introduction of the Reich Law of June 22, 1889, the Federal Council decided on March 8, 1890 to authorize the establishment of 31 insurance companies in the German Reich, the seat of which was to be determined by the respective state government. In the kingdom of that time, the seat of the district government was chosen.

Among them were the insurance companies Upper Franconia in Bayreuth , Middle Franconia in Ansbach and Lower Franconia in Würzburg . With the entry into force of the Reich Insurance Code on January 1, 1912, the insurance companies were renamed "Landesversicherungsanstalt". On January 1, 1933, the Central Franconian and Upper Franconian State Insurance Institutions were merged to form the Upper Franconia and Middle Franconia State Insurance Institute with headquarters in Bayreuth.

By decision of March 23, 2006, the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs, Family and Women (today: Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs, Family and Integration ) approved the merger of the two institutions of the German pension insurance in Würzburg and Bayreuth into one institution, of the German Pension Insurance North Bavaria. The merger was completed on January 1, 2008. The main goal was to increase profitability and efficiency. It was decided that Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nordbayern will have its headquarters in Bayreuth and another one in Würzburg.

In addition, the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nordbayern regularly offers consultation days in many places and communities. There the citizens are advised to the same extent as in the information and advice centers. There are also around 100 voluntary insurance advisors. They help fill out the applications and are known as helpers in the neighborhood.

In addition, international consultation days are offered to clarify questions about supranational and interstate pension law.

They are available for all questions about rehabilitation measures and accompany the applicants from the initiation to the completion of the measure.

Connection points

The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nordbayern is the contact point for insured persons who have also completed insurance periods in Brazil, the Republic of Moldova, Portugal, Romania or Turkey or live there. One of the tasks of the liaison office is to inform the social service providers in these countries about a pension application in Germany so that a decision can also be made there about a pension entitlement. The periods of insurance in these countries are also taken into account when determining the German pension, for example by adding them to the minimum period of insurance (waiting period). Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nordbayern also determines insurance periods in these countries outside of a pension procedure so that an insurance account that has already been clarified can be used in the event of a pension. In the event of a divorce, a pension adjustment also requires clarification of the insurance periods with the foreign social security provider.

Tax audit

Since January 1, 1999, after a three-year transition period, the statutory task of tax audits has been transferred from the health insurance companies to the German pension insurance. Since then, the pension insurance institutions have been exclusively responsible for the company audits and are obliged to audit every company in the Federal Republic of Germany every four years. In 2019, 19,130 establishments were audited (2018: 18,422).

building

Bayreuth

On July 11, 1901, a plot of land on the corner of Leopoldstrasse and Wolfsgasse was acquired for around 36,000 marks. The Upper Franconian Insurance Company then erected a representative office building, which was planned for the time, at a cost of around 304,000 marks, and was ready to move into on April 1, 1903. This old building still houses parts of the head office today. In July 1951 the neighboring property at Leonrodstrasse 1, the so-called “Döringshaus”, was acquired. The card index building was added in the same year. In 1952, today's south intermediate building was built with a lateral connection to the Döringshaus. Finally, in 1953, all the departments of the Upper Franconia and Middle Franconia State Insurance Fund were combined in one building complex. Previously rented buildings could be given up. This was followed by the construction of a new building with a connecting wing to the old buildings, which was inaugurated on January 25, 1960. The neighboring property at Friedrichstrasse 12 was purchased to remedy the shortage of parking spaces and to rent it to the social and labor court. This was built between 1736 and 1738 and was already a listed building at that time. An extension to the old south connecting building of the main administration followed. The topping-out ceremony for the new south wing (south wing) took place on November 26, 1963. Of the construction work planned in 1972, only the extension of the south wing was initially implemented. In 1977 the head office was expanded, but the old connection building south had to be demolished. The previous address - Leopoldstrasse 1 and 3 - was replaced by the new address Wittelsbacherring 11 on April 1, 1979. This extension will form the center of the head office in the future.

Wurzburg

The building development of the former Lower Franconia State Insurance Company began in 1891. From that point on until 1903 it was housed on Peterplatz in the old building of the Lower Franconian government . Due to space problems, the move to Friedenstrasse 14 took place in 1903. In 1939 the rear building at Friedenstrasse 14 was expanded. In the course of the bombing raid on Würzburg on March 16, 1945, the LVA building was also destroyed up to 50%. The building was rebuilt as early as May 8, 1945. In the 1980s, an extension was built next to the building at Friedenstrasse 14. In 2009 the board of directors and management decided to build a new building at Friedenstrasse 14. Construction work then began in January 2012. At the end of September 2013, the building was completed. Since then, the information and advice center has also been located at Friedenstrasse 14.
