The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen is a corporation under public law with self-administration and a regional carrier of the German pension insurance . This means that the contributors - insured persons and employers - manage their own pension fund. Headquarters is in Frankfurt am Main , offices for insurance and pension matters are in Darmstadt , Künzell , Kassel and Königstein im Taunus .

As one of 14 independent regional statutory pension insurance providers, Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen looks after around 1.9 million insured persons, 750,000 retirees and 100,000 employers in Hessen . She is the regional contact for currently 1.7 million insured persons of the German Federal Pension Insurance Association in Hesse when it comes to questions about pensions, rehabilitation and old-age provision. The number of insured persons increases annually until a distribution rate of 55 percent for the regional agencies and 45 percent for the federal agencies is reached by 2020. With a total volume of 8.2 billion euros, the 2014 budget of the German Pension Insurance Hesse is the largest public budget after the state budget. The majority of the expenditure is on pension payments with 6.45 billion euros. That is 84 percent of the total expenditure. The administrative and procedural costs amount to 115 million euros; that is only 1.5 percent of the total expenditure. The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen employs a total of 2,400 people in administration and in its own rehabilitation facilities.

Self-management

The organs of self-administration are the assembly of representatives and the board of directors. These two bodies are made up of equal numbers of volunteer representatives from insured persons and employers. The full-time managing director is responsible for ongoing administrative business. This is a member of the board in an advisory capacity.

The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen is organized decentrally with its main administration in Frankfurt am Main and its four offices for insurance matters in Darmstadt, Frankfurt am Main in Königstein, Fulda in Künzell and Kassel.

Information and advice centers as well as consultation days

10 regional information and advice centers in Bad Nauheim , Darmstadt , Frankfurt am Main , Gelnhausen , Gießen , Heppenheim (Bergstrasse) , Kassel , Künzell , Marburg and Wiesbaden as well as regular advice days at 17 consultation days ensure comprehensive information and advice for all pensioners in Hesse on the subject of pensions, rehabilitation and additional private pension provision. The consultants conduct 540,000 meetings annually; 280,000 of them personally on site.

Service points for rehabilitation

In seven cross-provider service points for rehabilitation of the German Pension Insurance Hesse in Bad Nauheim, Darmstadt, Frankfurt am Main (2), Gießen, Kassel and Künzell, disabled and people at risk of disability are given comprehensive and qualified advice on all questions of rehabilitation, regardless of which rehabilitation provider responsible is.

Oldest insured

Voluntary insured elders of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen provide information in the cities and districts on pension issues, accept applications and help with filling out. The German pension insurance recently put their number at 75 to 80.

The services of the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen range from individual information and advice in the areas of pensions, rehabilitation and private old-age provision, to the preparation of insurance accounts (account clarification) to the processing and decision-making of applications for benefits for medical or occupational rehabilitation as well as pension benefits ( in the event of reduced earning capacity, old age and death).

These benefits are financed by contributions from the insured and their employers as well as federal subsidies. The Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen is responsible for the second largest public budget in Hessen with around 7.5 billion euros.

history

The legal predecessor until 2005 was the State Insurance Institute Hessen (LVA Hessen) , which in turn was created in 1946 through the merger of the State Insurance Institute Grand Duchy of Hessen (based in Darmstadt) and the State Insurance Institute Hessen-Nassau (based in Kassel).
