Ernst-Reinhard Beck
Ernst-Reinhard Beck (born August 31, 1945 in Frohnstetten ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2013 .
Life
After graduating from high school in 1965 at the Hohenzollern High School in Sigmaringen , Beck did his military service in the 1st Mountain Division and also trained as a reserve officer ; after several military exercises he was promoted to colonel of the reserve in 1996 .
After completing his military service, Beck completed a degree in history , German and political science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen from 1967 , which he completed in 1971 with the first and 1972 with the second state examination for a higher teaching post. After that he worked as a teacher at the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Pfullingen until 1982 . From 1982 to 2002 he was the senior director of the Friedrich List Gymnasium in Reutlingen .
From 2002 to 2013 he was a member of the German Bundestag and from November 2009 he was defense policy spokesman for the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.
Beck has been married since 1971. His brother is the mayor of Tuttlingen , Michael Beck , who is also a member of the CDU .
Political party
In 1963 Beck joined the Junge Union and in 1968 also became a member of the CDU. From 1975 to 1979 he was first deputy district chairman and from 1979 to 1983 chairman of the CDU district association in Reutlingen.
MP
From 2001 to 2005 Beck was a member of the Pfullingen municipal council .
From 2002 to September 2013 he was a member of the German Bundestag . Ernst-Reinhard Beck has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Reutlingen constituency . Most recently, he had received 42.7% of the first votes in the 2009 Bundestag election . He did not run for the 2013 federal election .
Social offices
From October 2003 to November 2009 Beck was President of the Association of Reservists of the German Federal Armed Forces. V. He then became honorary president of this association.
He is chairman of the board of trustees of the Federal Agency for Civic Education .
Beck is a member of the board of trustees for Aktion Gemeinschaftinn .
