The DA German Allgemeine Versicherung Aktiengesellschaft , shortly DA Direct , the direct insurer of Zurich Group Germany and also belongs to the Zurich Insurance Group (Switzerland). DA Direkt sells insurance via the internet and telephone sales channels, but also via its own branches and cooperation partners.
In 2017 (2016) DA Direkt generated gross premium income of 303.7 (306.4) million euros with around 1.5 million insurance contracts. In the motor vehicle insurance business, DA Direkt is one of the largest direct insurers in Germany.
history
In 1923 the Deutsche Allgemeine Versicherung Aktiengesellschaft was founded in Berlin. In 1928 it was taken over by the Zurich Group, Switzerland, which made Deutsche Allgemeine its property insurer in Germany.
In 1977, DA Direkt began selling motor vehicle insurance directly. Between 1991 and 1993 branches were opened throughout Germany. In 1995, DA Direkt opened its own call center. From 1996 to 1997 a central service center for contract and claims management was set up. In 1998 the introduction of internet sales and the development of a multi-channel distribution began. In 2002, DA Direkt merged with the auto insurance companies Auto Direkt and Sun Direct (formerly Neckura Versicherung ).
In 2019, sales via the former 34 nationwide branches were discontinued and replaced by a consultant concept with personally accessible employees.
Products
The core product is motor vehicle liability and comprehensive insurance as well as cover letter . In addition, DA Direkt also offers personal liability , accident , household contents and legal expenses insurance .
