DCM is a media company based in Berlin that mainly acts as a film rental and film production studio , but is also an investor in the Berlin startup scene. DCM became known as the producer of the Bibi & Tina films as well as distributing several Oscar winners such as The Artist and Moonlight .

history

In 2008, the three Swiss Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel and Marc Schmidheiny founded DCM as a film production company to shoot their first joint film, Armistice . The three of them had already largely worked together during their time at StudiVZ . After the traditional Delphi film distribution had to file for bankruptcy in 2010, the founding trio took over the existing distribution in 2011 and renamed it to DCM together with the new partner Joel Brandeis. In 2013, DCM expanded its rental activities in Switzerland and opened an office in Zurich under the managing director Stephanie Candinas .

Film distribution and film production

DCM achieved particular success as the producer and distributor of the Bibi & Tina films, which were made under director Detlev Buck . In addition to its own productions, DCM has specialized in the rental of arthouse titles, including The Artist , Moonlight and Quartett .

Business angel

Due to the close connection of the three founders with StudiVZ and the Berlin startup scene, DCM has also been active as a business angel and investor since it was founded. The company's investments include Delivery Hero , Monoqi and Book a Tiger.
