History and commitment

prehistory

The vehicle was manufactured in 1934 by the Uerdingen wagon factory and used on the Kleinbahn Kiel – Segeberg railway . The railcar was designed as a solo vehicle. It was unsatisfactory in its use and was bought by DEBG in 1939.

DEBG T 202

The railcar was intended by DEBG for operation on the Rhein-Ettenheimmünster local railway . After a short period of operation, the chassis had to be replaced and the engine replaced with a diesel engine. Due to the situation at the time, he was not used again until 1945.

After the war, the car was initially overhauled by the Uerdingen wagon factory , after which it was used on the Voldagsen – Delligsen railway line . After another engine failure and repairs, it could be used again. The small capacity of the car caused problems on the route.

The rail bus was then transferred to the Vorwohle-Emmerthaler Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft , but there it was very unpopular due to poor driving characteristics and frequent breakdowns. The operating life of the car came to an end on January 6, 1955, when a fire in Bodenwerder destroyed the railcar.

Constructive features

The rail bus was designed for solo operation and had no pulling and buffing device to carry a sidecar.

The underfloor machine system originally consisted of a gasoline engine with an output of 65 hp and a mechanical gearbox. Before the Second World War , the petrol engine was replaced by a diesel engine from Vogtland Machine Factory (VOMAG), which had an output of 85 hp.
