German Society for Technical Education

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Society for Technical Education e. V. ( DGTB ) is an association for the promotion of technology teaching and technology didactics in research and teaching.

aims

As a technical didactic society , the DGTB primarily pursues the following goals:

  • Promotion of technical education, especially in all school types and levels of the general education system,
  • Support of specialist educational research and teaching in the field of technology didactics,
  • Exchange of experiences on approaches, problems and forms of implementation of technical education in the classroom,
  • Promotion of the training and further education of teachers in the field of technical education,
  • Maintaining relationships with domestic and foreign organizations that pursue similar or identical goals.

founding

Inspired by consultations and the results of the German Symposium on General Technical Education in March 1995, the DGTB was founded on May 3, 1996 in Freiburg on the initiative of Burkhard Sachs.

When giving the name, a specific technical didactic approach was deliberately avoided, as this might have led to the exclusion of those who pursue integrative approaches (e.g. industrial studies, subject teaching), but at the same time because of the clarification of technical didactic questions and the promotion of technology-specific lessons are interested.
