Brief description: ISO fits based on the uniform shaft system
Latest edition 8.1966
ISO 286

The DIN standard DIN 7155 defines in part 1 ISO fits according to the standard shaft fit system , i.e. fits whose tolerance field always begins at the zero line (deviations from the nominal dimension equal to zero).

The tolerance fields of outer fitting surfaces (e.g. shafts ) according to this fitting system are marked with the lowercase letter h .

A shaft with the tolerance field h (standard shaft) paired with a hole with the tolerance field A to H results in a clearance fit , J to N a transition fit (clearance or oversize ) and P to Z an interference fit (oversize).
