The DJK Germania Gladbeck (officially: Deutsche Jugendkraft Germania Gladbeck eV ) was a multi-discipline sports club from Gladbeck founded in 1923 . The football department DJK Germania Gladbeck played its home games on the Krusenkamp sports field.

history

With the runner-up of the Association League Westphalia and the associated promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen in 2007, the club achieved its greatest success. As seventh of the following league season , the team was athletically qualified for the newly created NRW league . However, the necessary license was refused by the West German Football and Athletics Association because the documents were incomplete. At the end of the 2008/09 season, the DJK Germania Gladbeck rose from the Westphalia League. Then it was announced in July 2009 that the team would be withdrawn from the national league. The DJK Germania Gladbeck took part in the game operations of the 2009/10 season with a newly formed II team in the district league C, group 3.

Despite the radical measures, the financial situation could not be calmed down. In January 2010 the application to open insolvency proceedings was made. In February 2010, the club was excluded from the association and thus from playing due to outstanding payments from the Football and Athletics Association Westphalia (FLVW). Members of the soccer department of the DJK Germania Gladbeck felt compelled to take measures to keep soccer at the location. For the 2010/11 season the DJK Alemannia Gladbeck 2010 resumed playing in the district league C as a new club on the "Am Krusenkamp" sports complex . Alemannia Gladbeck disbanded in October 2014.

For a long time the DJK Germania Gladbeck consisted of the departments budo, football, gymnastics, handball and table tennis. The gymnastics department dissolved in February 2010 and joined the sports association for elderly citizens in Gladbeck. The Budo department has been a member of the Gladbeck Kneipp Association since March 2010 . Since April 1, 2010, the association was no longer a member of the DJK Federal Association due to its own cancellation and was therefore no longer allowed to use the addition DJK and the logo. In the 2016/17 season only the handball team takes part in the game.
