The DJK Karbach is a sports club from Karbach , whose volleyball team has played very successfully in the women 's Bundesliga for years . The abbreviation DJK stands for Deutsche Jugendkraft, see DJK-Sportverband .

history

The DJK Karbach was founded on April 1st, 1968. In 1980 the volleyball department was added, which quickly fought its way up, especially in the women's area. In 1990 he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and in 1994 he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with the coach Mathias Eichinger . The DJK was the first Bundesliga team in women's volleyball to have its own website on the Internet . In 2002 the DJK Karbach withdrew from the Bundesliga due to financial problems.
