DJ SPUD (* 1973 in Berlin , bourgeois Oliver Nikolow ) is a German DJ and music producer from Berlin who became famous in the early 2000s with the title Set It Off .

history

According to his own statement, Nikolov began to be musically active at the age of 15. In addition to various events that he organized in Berlin, he was a resident DJ at the Berlin techno club Tresor for a while . In terms of charts, Nikolow had a commercial success at the end of 2002 with the single Set It Off , a cover of the 1986 single by Strafe. Set It Off reached number twelve in the German single charts and was able to stay in the top 100 for eleven weeks. The song also reached number 16 in the Flemish charts in Belgium. The successor single DJ Wimpy Does Britney was released in 2003 and also reached the German music charts at number 64. Further chart placements with other songs did not get.
